Lake Tegernsee

Duration: 5 hours
Leaving the city towards the south we reach lake Tegernsee surrounded by forests, rolling hills and mountains. History goes back to the 8th century with the foundation of a Benedictine Abbey with amazing power and influence in Bavaria, Italy and Austria. In the 19th century the Bavarian King obtained the monastery and turned it into a splendid summer residence still being a property of the former ruling family Wittelsbach. 
  • Visit to St. Quirinus church, time for a beer brewed in the duc's brewery and a boat ride on lake Tegernsee are included in tour.
  • Stop at Gut Kaltenbrunn with a magnificent view over the lake.
  • Are you interested in visiting a paper mill?
  • Culinary hotspots: Whether Bavarian Whisky, coffee, cheese or chocolates - there are great manufactories to visit here.

Berchtesgaden

Duration: 10 hours
Berchtesgaden is nestling admist the Alps situated on the German/Austrian border. There are numerous possibilities in this lovely alpine town: 
  • Take a boatride on lake Königsee the deepest of the German lakes to St. Bartholomae peninsula and listen to the mountain echo. 
  • Learn more about the "white gold" salt and take a tour through the salt mines enjoying the funny slides the miners used to take.
  • For those beeing interested in history a vsit to Eagles nest and the documentary centre is recommended (open May - October)
  • Discover the traditional craft of the gentian distillery Grassl
  • Hike at the lake Hintersee – small but one of the most scenic mountain lakes in Bavaria
  • Visit to the Wittelsbach hunting lodge

Garmisch-Partenkirchen / Zugspitze

Duration: 8 hours
With an attitude of almost 10000 ft, Zugspitze Mountain is the highest peak of Germany. Weather permitting one can enjoy fantastic views over the Austrian, Swiss and German Alps. Ride uphill by cogwheel train,downhill by cablecar or v.v. 

Return to Munich with a stopover in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, widely known as a winter sports resort.
Originally, Garmisch and Partenkirchen were two independent villages. Although united as a market for over 80 years, there are still two town centers. The sophisticated Garmisch and the traditional Partenkirchen. Even in the traditional costume there are clear differences in color, shape and embroidery. Sometimes, however, even the locals get confused, because while in all of Bavaria you can recognize an unmarried girl by the dirndl apron tied on the left, the Partenkirchen girls do it the other way around. Oh my! Whatever!
  • Ski jump, a landmark of the Four Hills Tournament
  • Stroll to the villa of Richard Strauss, his summer residence, which he bought from the proceeds of the opera "Salome"
  • Hike around the Eibsee at the foot of the Zugspitze mountain - the Caribbean of Bavaria and one of THE Instagram hotspots will await you

Rothenburg and the Romantic Road

Duration: 11 hours
Full day excursion along the Romantic Road via the medieval-walled towns Nördlingen and Dinkelsbühl and the mighty Harburg fortress one of the best preserved in Germany we reach Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Be fascinated by its unforgettable silhouette and the historic fortification with its well-preserved towers. This city is in its entirety an architectural gem and offers a unique charm. Half-timbered houses, mills, narrow alleys and lanes and outstanding church art by Tilman Riemenscheider.
  • Don't leave Rothenburg ob der Tauber without trying the famous Schneeballen. A shortbread pastry with powdered sugar, which was originally only served at church fairs, weddings and other festivities.
  • Visit of the Jakobskirche with the impressive Holy Blood Altar by Tilman Riemenschneider

Regensburg

Duration: 8 hours
Once being a Roman garrison town and later an important merchants city and free imperial town, Regensburg is a medieval jewel and recently it became a UNESCO wold heritage. 
  • Guided walk through the old city centre with all important sights: The Stone Bridge over Danube River, Porta Praetoria dating back to the Romans, the seat of the Bishops and the cathedral, the city hall, medieval homes of rich families. 
  • A must: The historic Wurstkuchl - perhaps the best sausages in the world.
  • By boat or after a short drive you will reach the Walhalla, a classicist temple in memory of German artists, writers and thinkers. A wonderful vantage point over the Danube and coveted picnic spot
  • Enjoy a boat ride on the Danube or continue to Weltenburg Abbey.
  • A place of horror in the Old Town Hall: the torture chamber of the Middle Ages

Salzburg

Duration: 10 hours
Enjoy a very scenic ride through the picturesque countryside of Upper Bavaria, along the Northern Alps, lake Chiemsee and then enter Austria before arriving in the sugar-spun city of Salzburg. 
  • A guided walk through the Old Town includes the most important sights like the Cathedral church, the residence of the Archbishop, Mozart's birthplace and Getreidegasse with its beautiful shops and wrought-iron signs. 
  • You shouldn't miss the traditional coffee shops and try one of the local coffee specialities and irresistible sweets. 
  • Also we have the possibility to take the cogweel train to the fortress for breathtaking views.
  • Take a romantic ride in a “Fiaker”, a horse drawn carriage
  • Be sure to try "Salzburger Nockerl" (dessert)
  • Buy the original "Mozartkugeln"
  • Take your time for a stroll through the Renaissance courtyards
  • ... and the high hiking trail above the old town center

Starnberg lake district and Andechs Monastery

Duration: 8 hours
South of Munich, there is an easy getaway from the urban bustle. The area has long been a favourite with Bavarian nobility and artists. 
  • We stop by the lavishly decorated Baroque church of the Andechs monastery and perhaps we should do what the pilgrims did in the old days... Have a dark beer from the monasteries’ brewery – said to be one of the best in Germany!
  • A leisurely way to explore the area is a boat ride, the best way to see the gorgeous villas along the waterfront and Berg castle where King Ludwig II died under misterious circumstances.
  • Another highlight is the only island in the lake, Roseninsel, where Ludwig frequently had rendez-vous with his cousin Sissi and other illustrious guests.
