Explore Munich

Duration: 3 hours
A classic city sightseeing tour to explore the city's most attractiv sides as well as to get an inside view of history and development from its foundation over 850 years ago until today, Munich as a centre of lifestyle and business. Learn more about the way of life of the locals and their traditions. The tour includes the most famous sights of Munich: Marienplatz with its Glockenspiel carillion, Stachus square, the most elaborate painting galleries Pinakotheken, the monumental Ludwigstrasse with Triumphal Arch, Maximilianeum the Bavarian Parliament, the Angel of Peace, the English Garden, Olympic village, just to mention a few.... Short walk through the parc of Nymphenburg Palace.
Note: you could also combine this tour with an inside visit of Nymphenburg palace.

Walking Tour "Historic Munich"

Duration: 1,5 - 2 hours
A guided walk through the old town will acquaint you with the main places of interest: Explore Marienplatz with it's wold famous Glockenspiel carillion, visit Munich's oldest church St. Peter and the Frauenkirche Cathedral, view modern architecture in the 5 courts shopping mall, see the Residence, home of the Bavarian rulers, the Opera House, the most prestigious Maximilianstreet with its elegant boutiques, listen to some Bavarian Oompha music at Hofbräuhaus beerhall and last but not least, feel your mouth water at Viktualienmarkt the colourful Munich food market. Enjoy history and stories of the Bavarian Capital!

Munich - tailormade for children, tutor groups and families

Duration: 1,5 - 2 hours
Munich's history will be transmitted age-based and underlined with thrilling stories and legends. Children's eyes discover many interesting details which adults often miss. Why is devil's footprint to be found in the cathedral? Who can locate the cannonball at Munich's oldest church, where there real lions at the Royal court and whats the reason of the monkey tower.

Munich beneath the Swastika

Duration: 2 - 3 hours
Walking tour focussing on Munich's darkest past as "Capital of Movement". In fact, the National Socialist Party of Germany was founded here and develloped itself in the political climate of the 1920s based in the bourgeoisie but with best liasion high finance. In 1923 the so-called beerhallputsch, the first attempt to seize power, failed at the Feldherrenhalle, 1933 Hitler was elected to Chancellor and under his direction Munich was supposed to be transformed. This tour introduces you the black chapter of Munich and shows you sites that played an important role during the Nazi movement, covers facts and figures of history and architecture, informes you about mass meetings and party rally parades as well as active resistance movement.

In history books one can learn a lot about more or less glorious and renowned men. For centuries women performed more in the background or acted carefully behind their important husbands. This walking tour through the old town takes us to places where you hear about exeptional and remarkable women. From aristocrats and mistresses, bourgeoise, actresses, fraudsters, fighters for freedom and emancipation.

Beer!

Duration: 1,5 - 2 hours
Tour through the old town of Munich, the true capital of beer to learn more about our national drink - liquid bread! Get a recipe how to brew beer at home as women did years ago and follow the development of the purity law of beer. Beer was important in the daily life of the citizens - that important, that many beer price increases culminated in revolutions. Of course the most wellknown beerhall Hofbräuhaus is also part of the tour. If desired we could end the tour with a visit of the beer and Oktoberfest museum.

Munich Treats

Duration: 2 Stunden
Walking tour of the city centre including all major sights but focussing on old traditions and customs, local food and drink specalities. What's all about the white sausage and which is the real way of eating it. Do you dare to eat Obazda and Leberkäs literally translated liver cheese. Extended stroll over Viktualienmarket and visit of Dallmayr coffee and gourmet shop.

"to indulge all senses" - Foodie Tour over Munichs' Farmers Market Viktalienmarkt

Duration: 1,5 hours
This tour is a real treat and appeals all senses. For more than 200 years the market is the colourful, lively and buzzing heart of the city. We browse our way through the market stands and pavillions with tempting delights such as fruits, vegetables, bread, sausages, cheese, meat and fish – a magnet for gourmets and gourmands from all over the world. More than 100 traders offer local goods, as well as exotic delicacies. This market invites for a culinary stroll where tempting aromas fill the air. Taste from savoury to sweet while you weave through cobblestone alleys, meet the merchants for a chat and indulge in a series of local specialities.

Local Heroes and Purveyors to The Royal Court

Duration: 1,5 hours
Bavaria became a kingdom in 1806 and Munich it's capital. Royal representation played a more and more important role along with a growing high society, distinguished and selected goods and delicate taste. The title "Purveyors to the Royal Bavarian Court" was an award showcasing highest recognition and compliment and permitted the traders to carry the Royal Bavarian crest in their own company logo. This tour grants insight into traditional shops which date back to the 19th century and were run successfully through generations up until today.

Seasonal tours


Oktoberfest - the wold's largest public festival

Duration: 2 hours
Visit the world's largest public festival Oktoberfest and receive interesting and unbelievable background information! While we walk over the fairground you learn how it all started with a horse race on the occasion of the wedding of crown prince Ludwig I - no beer yet! Learn more about beer, about architecture and specific characteristics of beer tents, showmen, breathtaking new merry-go-rounds as well as historic attractions like the Krinoline carousel with a "Live" Oompaah band. There are lots of quaint things....by the way, did you know that there is even a priest working there?


Christmas in Munich

Duration: 2 hours
City walking tour through Munich's Old town seeing all important sights in lovely Christmas decoration. In the advent season we give a lot of attention to old traditions and many customs are retained, sometimes these go back to dark pagan times. Let's visit the Christmas Market with its colourful variety of decoration and craftwork and be tempted by the smell of mulled wine, ginger breads and Bratwurst!

Nativity scenes in the Bavarian National Museum

Duration: 1,5 hours
Visit the breathtaking collection of valuable Christmas Nativity scenes dating from the early 17th to the early 19th century, whose significance in the history of art and culture exceeds any other public or private collection of this genre. There were altar reliefs with the depiction of the holy story but nativity scenes did not exist before the 16th century. Let yourself inspire and elate from the marvellous scenes and displays rich in wood-carved figurines from Bavaria, Tyrol, Northern Italy, Sicily and above all from Napels, the centre of Nativity scenes under King Charles III.
