Lake Tegernsee

Duration: 5 hours
Leaving the city towards the south we reach lake Tegernsee surrounded by forests, rolling hills and mountains. History goes back to the 8th century with the foundation of a Benediction monastery with amazing power and influence in Bavaria, Italy and Austria. In the 19th century the Bavarian King obtained the monastery and turned it into a splendid summer residence still being a property of the former ruling family Wittelsbach. Visit to St. Quirinus church, time for a beer brewed in the duc's brewery and boat ride on lake Tegernsee are included in tour.

Dachau - Visit to the Concentration Camp Memorial Site

Duration: 4 hours
In March 1933 right after the Nazi's have got the power in Germany, the first German concentration camp was set up near Dachau. Political opponents, Jews, clergymen and so-called undesirable elements were to be isolated here as enemies of the National-Socialist regime.
Guided tour over the grounds, visit to the museum and possibility to view the documentary film.

Berchtesgaden is nestling admist the Alps situated on the German/Austrian border. There are numerous possibilities in this lovely alpine town:
Take a boatride on lake Königsee the deepest of the German lakes to St. Bartholomae peninsula and listen to the mountain echo. Learn more about the "white gold" salt and take a tour through the salt mines enjoying the funny slides the miners used to take.
For those beeing interested in history a vsit to Eagles nest and the documentary centre is recommended (open May - October)

Garmisch-Partenkirchen / Zugspitze

With an attitude of almost 10000 ft, Zugspitze Mountain is the highest peak of Germany. Weather permitting one can enjoy fantastic views over the Austrian, Swiss and German Alps. Ride uphill by cogwheel train,downhill by cablecar or v.v.
Return via Garmisch-Partenkirchen once site of Olympic winter games and today a favoured resort for winter and summer sports.

Rothenburg and the Romantic Road

Full day excursion along the Romantic Road via the medieval-walled towns Nördlingen and Dinkelsbühl and the mighty Harburg fortress one of the best preserved in Germany we reach Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Be fascinated by its unforgettable silhouette and the historic fortification with its well-preserved towers. This city is in its entirety an architectural gem and offers a unique charm. Half-timbered houses, mills, narrow alleys and lanes and outstanding church art by Tilman Riemenscheider.

Once being a Roman garrison town and later an important merchants city and free imperial town, Regensburg is a medieval jewel and recently it became a UNESCO wold heritage. Guided walk through the old city centre with all important sights: The Stone Bridge over Danube River, Porta Praetoria dating back to the Romans, the seat of the Bishops and the cathedral, the city hall, medieval homes of rich families. Enjoy a boat ride on the Danube or continue to Weltenburg Abbey.

Enjoy a very scenic ride through the picturesque countryside of Upper Bavaria, along the Northern Alps, lake Chiemsee and then enter Austria before arriving in the sugar-spun city of Salzburg. A guided walk through the Old Town includes the most important sights like the Cathedral church, the residence of the Archbishop, Mozart's birthplace and Getreidegasse with its beautiful shops and wrought-iron signs.
